No gif Pictures in Amazon HomePage in Europe

No gif Pictures in Amazon HomePage in Europe

When accessing the German Amazon Home Page (www.amazon.de) with PortableFirefox 1.5.03 none of the gif Pictures contained in the Page are shown,with the result that it is virtually unuseable. This also applies for the british Amazon WWW.Amazon.co.uk.

When calling the US Amazon (www.amazon.com) then the home page is displayed correctly with all included gifs.

Switching AdBlock on and off has no effect on the above described behaviour. The normal FireFox (non Portable) does not display the above effects it displays the German and UK Amazon correctly. The 2 FireFox versions are identical and have identical extension installed. Operating System is Windows XP German.

So far I have only encountered this problem with Amazon. I have screen shots available should anyone what to see what I am describing.

Does anyone know the reason why or has a fix?

They both work for me....

Try deleteing/clearing your cache if it is turned on and any history you have. This shoudl fix it. If not, try with a base pff with none of your extensions or bookmarks, Just download it again and unzip and try. See if it comes up. If it does then your profile might be corrupt. Its worth a try to see.

Still not working

I have tried all of the suggestions as listed by Deuce, I have even tried the PortableFireFox 2 Alpha all with exactly the same result. Up to present Amazon Europe is the only instance that I have encountered that exhibits the described behaviour (no gifs in Page).

Now Working Problem Solved

After systematically trying all Settings in "Tools" -> "Options" I have found that it is essential to deselect the option "for originating Web Site only" contained in "Content Load Images".

Adblock Plus can remain active, and the world is back to normal.
