I tried using "the easy to use Flash installer for FF Portable" but that didn't work.
I tried the extension option but got this error message: "Install script not found-204".
I tried the so-called "geeky method" (copying the NPSWF32.dll file from my hard drive to my USB's FF plugins folder) but that didn't work.
I tried rebooting the browser and the computer each time I tried and retried these methods but that, also, didn't work.
I've spent 4 hours working on this "simple" project for no result, so, how does one watch The Daily Show or Colbert Report without changing browsers?
Off topic: Will there be portable versions of Chrome and Opera? Or should I just stick copies on my USB stick and simply treat the stick as another drive, irrespective of what PC I use it on?

Flash plugin difficulties
I got flash going with FFP by copying BOTH files "flashplayer.xpt" and "NPSWF32.dll" into the folder \FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins
For whatever reason, it did NOT work when I copied them into \FirefoxPortable\App\DefaultData\plugins
Hope that helps!
1. Install Firefox to your home computer or a computer you can install on.
2. Install Portable Firefox if it hasn't been installed yet.
3. Install Flash (Firefox version) from the Adobe site. Also while you're at it, get Shockwave. Get Quicktime. Get the Adobe Reader. Google Gears. All those helper plugins out there.
4. Browse to the Firefox plugins directory. I haven't got access to a localized Firefox dir, so IIRC it's C:\Documents and Settings\YourWindowsLoginName\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\profile.YourFirefoxProfileName\plugins. If not, go to My Computer, hit F3, and run a search on NPSWF32.DLL. Right click it, choose Open Target Folder.
5. Copy EVERYTHING in that directory to the plugins data on your Flash drive. I am sure of that directory because I'm looking at it; it's X:\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\Data\plugins where X is your drive letter. I have 25.1MB of plugins in there, but hey, stuff works.
It's too bad JTH & Co. can't make a plugin installer, because it's illegal for them or any of us to redistribute it. I'd love to ZIP it up and send it off, but I can't (rather, won't, but you get the idea). I and others will do what we can to help you do it on your own though.
