They usually occur within a day. But FileZilla had changed its notification method so that they no longer notify people via email about updates when they ditched SourceForge. I've since found their RSS feed which has been added to our watchlist so we'll be able to update as normal again (as opposed to just monitoring their homepage, etc). The current update is being posted today.

My Filezilla Portable comes up with a "New Version Available" tab, but when I look, it's offerring me regular Filezilla Version 3.2.4.1, and when I visit the FileZilla Portable site, I find I'm still up to date with Version 3.2.3.1
I'm in a situation where I travel between alot of users, and must carry my own tools with me, rather than install them on the user's machine. Using Portable Filezilla has been a lifesaver. I need Portable Filezilla to only let me know when PORTABLE Filezilla has an update.
I downloaded the zip from and just copied the files over the existing ones in X:\PortableApps\FileZillaPortable\App\filezilla\, leaving out the couple fzshellext*.dll files and the "locales" folder (since they weren't in the existing portable version). It seems to work and I still have my saved settings intact.
If I get some time I might try to figure out how to package it (not likely do to a recent re-org at work).
I noticed that FileZilla 3.3.2 has been released but has not yet been packaged as a PortableApps distribution. I followed joshg253's guidelines above and it seems to have done the trick.
Just so you know, that's not supported and may not be portable. The launchers backup & restore a hardcoded list of files and registry entries; if that list changes from one release to another, copying the new release's files over the old one will lose portability. If portability is a big deal for you, you'd do better to wait for the official PA release.
Cheers!

Hi John,
we can help with the update notifications, too.

Bugfixes and minor changes:
Greetings,

It would be very helpful to have the version 3.2.4.1 as a portable application.
An update would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Thank you very much for the update.
- Thomas

will your method work with Version 3.2.6 ?
