Recieving mail but sometimes it does not BOLD the folder with new mail in it

I have version 2.0.0.19.

I recieve the emails alright but many times it does not bold the folder with new mails in it.

I use alot of filters to sort the emails.

The folder only becomes bold after I have clicked it. It´s almost as thunderbird only then notices that there is new mail in the folder.

I have many folders, so clicking on all of them when checking mail is not really an option.

Any ideas?

Unread folders

At the top of the left hand folder bar there is a header called "All Folders". At the end of that bar is two arrows. Click the last one, and the folder view changes to "Unread Folders". Folders with new mail should be shown there.

I deleted the msf files. Went

I deleted the msf files. Went through and clicked all the folders in thunderbird just so that it would build the mailbox (msf files) again (it displays a message about this in the statusbar, bottom left). It now seems to be working.

I have experienced the same

I have experienced the same thing but only after using 3.
Deleting the msf files and manually selecting each folder to rebuild it seemed to work for me to.

My only problem now seems to be the opposite. I use two machines mainly. I can check e-mail and mark all as read then transfer to my other machine and suddenly the unread filter shows a few mailboxes and rss feeds bolded and with a message count. When I click on them they just remove the bold and there isn't actually any messages. It's almost like each computer has it's own cache or something. Or it could be because one is XP and the other is W7.

Update: I fixed my issue by making sure my usb drive was being assigned the same drive letter on each machine and now the mail folders are fine. That might help the op's problem as well.
