Gmail isn't an app. It's a site. At best it's a web-based app. Either way it can't be made portable.
However you can use Thunderbird Portable to access your gmail as I do. Works rgeat especially with gmail plus you can use the lightning extension for calendar and task pad capabilities.
Honestly did you even think about that? Seriously you've been here long enough to know what the difference is between a web app and a desktop app. Gmail, Google Docs, Google Calendar, and even (yes really) google is on the web. That means you can view it from any computer provided you know your username and password (yes really). Stop with the stupid posts PLEASE we've had more than enough of you.
I just released Gmail Portable, and I've bundled it into Firefox Portable. Please download Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition. Upon launching the application, navigate to http://gmail.com and the application will be available on any PC you visit.
I'd like to make an official request to have this guy banned. This is the last stupid request I want to read. I deal with n00bs all day, but this is insane...
Gmail can be accessed through Thunderbird...I'll have to do more research on that...
I'll also look into the Gmail Portable Patrick was talking about...Thanks anyway everyone else...

Hey, Google has a Gmail client app. One that can sit on your Start menu just like Outlook, Outlook Express, or any other mail client. Other than that, I suppose a portable Chrome would be nice, although I haven't looked to see if it exists. Perhaps I will right now. Hey look, there is. It's at: https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/google_chrome_portable
