Synchronizer

Does anyone know of a good file synchronization utility out there?
"Super Flexible File Synchronizer" seems to the best synchronization utility I've found yet, but is not freeware.
Or should I look into a simple backup utility.

SyncToy

Not sure if it's any good or not but there's a WinXP Powertoy called SyncToy:

I use three tools: FileSync

I use three tools:

FileSync (http://www.fileware.com/)
SyncBack (free version http://www.2brightsparks.com/downloads.html)
Abakt (http://www.xs4all.nl/~edienske/abakt/)

SyncBack and Abakt save some config on your C disk, but can be used anyway ....

SyncToy is a waste of time - AllwaySync rules!

Had a look at SyncToy when it was released - it's a waste of time.

If you want a good free file sync program, have a look at AllwaySync at:

http://allwaysync.com/

It's by far the best file sync program I've come across, and should be able to be made into a portable version by just copying the installation folder.

I use synctoy on my windows

I use synctoy on my windows installs, but the other options look nice, too (and look like better portable candidates).

Backup software would be nice for the PAS for backing up (or syncing) documents from a machine to the drive, and then to another machine (and back again, and again, etc).

Mozilla!

I'll second the SyncBack

I'll second the SyncBack suggestion...been using it for a few months now.

WinMerge

Try WinMerge, it is Open Source, needs no installation and compares file s and directories:

Pathsync v 0.33

Hi, my first post on PortableApps.com

Try Pathsync v0.33. 100kb download (installer). Drag/copy to usb stick and UPX compress to less than 20 kb on disk. No registry entries. Application folder .ini file is created. Is very fast, ergonomic and has several options including bi-directional sync, uni-directional sync, etc.

Found it on www.portablefreeware.com

File and Outlook synchronisation

Is there a freeware program that can synchronise some directories and all my Outlook data. I've been using the sync program that came with my U3 drive but, it keeps telling me "this is not the computer you synchronised with!!" - Its called Cruzersync

Thanks.
