Copying local Pidgin settings to Pidgin Portable?

In the instructions for copying local Pidgin settings to Pidgin Portable it says:

"Your local Pidgin settings are usually installed in C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\.Purple\. Just copy that .Purple directory to the PidginPortable\Data\settings directory and you're all set."

However, there is no such directory in Pidgin Portable. The Data folder is empty. There is a file called settings in App\DefaultData\settings, though. How do I proceed?

Welcome Kalevi to PortableApps.com

Hope you like thee site. Now to support. For me I found this -

\PortableApps\PidginPortable\Data\settings\.purple

If this is where you are looking already you may have to run Pidgin Portable for the folders to be created as they are a part of the launcher set up I believe. Try opening and closing Pidgin Portable to see if this works.

Good luck

Got it

Thank you for the advice! That seems to work. Lovely forum you have here. I seem to find answers to my problems much quicker than in most other support forums.
