What version of linux do you recomend. I want to download one but i don't know which one I should use. I would prefer to use on compatible with wine.

UBUNTU!!!
Ubuntu is awesome, AFAIK it's currently the most newbie-friendly Linux out there. Used to be Fedora, formerly Fedora Core, formerly Red Hat, but I believe Ubuntu is 'it' now. That doesn't mean it's the best (and almost certainly means it isn't) but it's still a good alternative to Windows, especially Vista and 7.
If you're gonna try it, maybe wait a month. Ubuntu puts out updates every six months. April and October. If you wait for the April one, you'll be using the latest and greatest. If you use October's, you'll be using something tried and true that people are experienced with; help would be more readily available should you need it.
I still use Windows XP... I have a few things that require it, though, so I have to. But the best advice I can give anyone not tied to a particular platform is, Learn Linux Now. I can't stress it enough. Microsoft software is getting more expensive (if you want Vista or 7 - I don't) and generally less reliable. Meanwhile open source is ever on the rise. Firefox is of course the big one, but Linux and OpenOffice are making strides as well. And if you're stuck with Windows for a while, at least use open source multi-platform apps like Firefox and OpenOffice, so the transition to Linux becomes easier.
Also get the DVD-ROM version of Ubuntu, not the CD-ROM version. Same OS but it'll come with more programs.
I have heard of pendrivelinux.com. Should I get a copy for my flash drive from there?

I've had too many problems with them.
After I booted ubuntu persistently like 5 times, it stopped working. It wouldn't let me go on. Once the loading screen finished, it just went to a blank terminal and I couldn't run any apps.
Then... I got some help and they told me to just go to "System --> Administration --> Create USB Startup Disk"
And it worked fine. So boot from cd, and install to your flash drive.
My second problem is that it's not really saving settings to your flash drive!!! After I moved to a different computer, all my settings were gone!!!

this runs directly together with windows, uses colinux for that and runs without any virtual machine or emulator.
The kernel is a special one however. But behaves as ubuntu otherwise and runs from stick directly.
