After quite some time of use without any trouble today it come with the following error: "An error occured with the POP3 mail server.Mail server in.alice.it responded" without specification of error.
Whats going on with thunderbird??

It could be your mail server, your PC's firewall, etc. Can you POP using a local copy of TB? Or try a fresh copy of PTB, set it up for that mail server, and be sure to set it not to delete from the server before checking your email... to be sure it's working. If a local copy of TB or a new copy of PTB has issues, then it's not TB, it's something else.

thank but it was a spyware which bypass three layer of security, which so far, was always properly working; unfortunately living close to a border with east europe sometimes is giving some trouble as spyware (will be nice and confortable to have one portable as additional security)and viruses. It hit most of the computer activities in my area, anyway.
