Changing the Default FolderIcons Problem

Hi,, I've tried to customize my portableApps a little by changing the folder icons.

I've replaced all the icons in "USB DRIVE:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\App\DefaultData\FolderIcons"

But when i re-connected the drive, only the documents icon has changed, the rest (PortableApps, Music, Pictures, Videos) still have the original icons showing, even when I've removed them from the drive.

Is there another copy of the icons that exist in the drive, that they are linked to?

[off-topic question]
Also is there any way to change the location of the document and portableApps folder, I wish to add a "#" at the start so that they will always appear at the top of the root folder list.

Thanks

Hi I'm new to all this, but

Hi

I'm new to all this, but will try to help.

Do you have the original Portable Apps Menu (PAM)? If so you may want to try downloading the unofficial PAM MOD R34 v1.5 assuming you have the latest official version of the PAM.

You can find it and many other theme for the R34 MOD here - http://ptc.kain-planet.de/details.php?file=420

But check which version you have first as this is for PAM v1.5, there are version for older PAM's. There's loads of themes available and the menu is more advanced than the official one and allows more options. There's even a few guides on how to modify the R34 PAM in many ways.

Hope that helps...

Folder Icons

The icons within X:\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\App\DefaultData\FolderIcons will customize the folder icons for the folders when you view them in explorer. Within :\PortableApps\PortableApps.com\App\DefaultData\Theme you can customize the folder icons that appear in the menu. Keep in mind that both right now will be replaced when you update your copy of the platform.

It's better not to use a # to customize as if the PortableApps directory is changed, none of the PortableApps.com Installers will be able to find it.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
