Suite icon can't be removed from XP

When I try to eject the Portable Apps Suite all I get is constant error message

"Access violation at address 00488714 in module PortableAppsPlatform.exe Read of address 1DO8D70B"

Finally just took the drive out and tried it on my Vista box and it works fine
there. The XP machine still has the apps icon in the system tray and neither R.
nor L. clicks will produce anything except the above message. I know it is a lock of some kind but how do I remove the icon other than to shut down. There is nothing
in the Task manager.

Have you considered

Have you considered restarting? This should clear any problems you're having with the icon.

The next question is why you got that message in the first place. I don't know personally, but am quite interested to hear the events leading up to this.

He stated that that works.

Anyway, How are you ejecting you drive? Are you using that button with the ^ and the _ under it?

What software do you have installed on your pc?

And what version of the Menu are you using?

Version?

The version of the menu which you are running is very important. 1.5 has new functionality which should make it close itself properly if there is something amiss with the drive (e.g. when you've got a bad connection and it drops out or when you pull it out without stopping it). If you haven't got 1.5, try upgrading to the latest version and try again.

(btw gluxon, try ^ for symbolising the eject button (^ struck out with the <s> tag Wink ) )

The Poster signed as "Donna" which suggests that "He" is a "She".
