Crash with mirror of a big folder

Hi there,

I use regularly Toucan for saving my data files and it works fine.

However, when I do a mirror of a very big folder (one folder containing many files -- around 30 Go of .mp3 in a unique folder), Toucan fails to succed and it crashes before ending the process. I don't know if it's a bug or a inherent limit of the program. Just felt it could be usefull to tell about it.

Hi,

thanks for the report, the next version of Toucan which should be released shortly has a brand new mirror function that should be much more efficient than the old one, hopefully this will solve your problem Smile

Same bug

Did a little testing today, as I tried to sync (Mirror update) a 30 GB, max 5-folders deep directory. There is always a bug when trying to expand a node representing a folder already synced. I went through a whole sync, which failed after the end of files copy, and now there's a bug as soon as you click preview. In both case, retry and (of course) abort exited, while ignore worked. However, in the first case ignore wouldn't expand the node, and in the second case nodes are half-filled (that is, the '+' sign doesn't appear for half of them (the last half)). Clicking the button to populate the dest folder list makes Toucan freeze.
CFP.

Common sense

Simply get all your mp3s in smaller folders (maybe 5gb) and make a mirror each one separately.

Common sense ?

It semms to me that you suggest to change the landscape rather thant changing the camera. I see no reason for changing the files' layout, which Toucan should be able to deal with. Otherwise, people are not going to be willing to use it. And the bug appears anyway (my library is split in small folders).
