You guys should totally make portable apps for linux... That will probably help boost donations as well as give us awsome linux users something to look forward to so we dont have to keep windows on our comps.

Agreeing. PA within Wine does not work

I can only agree at this time. I briefly used Ubuntu and Fedora with Wine installed and was less than thrilled with my PA.com apps. The PA menu and my important applications (Firefox, Pidgin, and Thunderbird), did not work. Instead of text, all I saw were boxes. I tried a couple of fixes that I found in the Ubuntu forums, but these did not fix anything.

Limits are for people with no imagination.

Re: Agreeing. PA winthin Wine does not work

I think that I know someone who could make the fix but it'd just be easier for them to make the application program for linux users... plus it's supposed to be open source anyway am I correct? That would mean that linux would be the absolute best place to have it.

Please consider these webmasters and developers so that everyone can enjoy these applications.

Which Llinux distro and which version of Wine?

I was using Ubuntu 8.04 with the latest Wine and PA would not work. All the text were squares.

Which one were you using?

8.10 and 9.04 work

The screenshots on the press page were made with 8.10 and the current Wine at the time:

It also works fine in 9.04 (I just checked). I'd recommend upgrading from 8.04 as it's kinda long in the tooth now (over a year old). No reason not to upgrade.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Still they should probably

Still they should probably build a development of it for linux so that we don't have to put up with wine.
