Mozilla Firefox Bugs

I have Firefox 3.0.10, and i think it has a bug. Sometimes when I change a setting, or delete a bookmark, etc, after I close and open it again, it undoes the changes. Does anyone else have this problem?

If you mean Firefox Portable

then no. The only thing I found out is that it always undoes the setting when you choose "always perform this check when starting firefox" checkbox (so that it checks if its the default browser) but that's supposed to be that way in Firefox Portable.

I've never had that problem with a local install of firefox.

For starters. you mean this "PAGE" should tell why

And it only recently started happening.

Actually, it's not only with 3.0.10, It's happening on my 3.1/3.5 Beta 3 (I know.. I shouldn't be using it for regular browsing anyway).

EDIT: Oops. Did you mean you've been having the same problem that it doesn't make it the default browser. Yeah that's what I meant the website to be for. My bad if it wasn't what you were looking for.

Corruption or NTFS

This is nearly always corruption in the profile, specifically the bookmarks sqlite database... or an issue with NTFS permissions.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

  1. My drive's formatted FAT32 Blum
  2. I'm sure my profile isn't corrupt. I sync my FFP with FF every while. And local copy works fine. (using same profile).

And I just updated my FireFTP extention, I clicked the restart button and after the restart... I open up the extentins and it still says I have to restart... and I can't get themes to switch either.

FAT32 corruption?

FAT32 is prone to file system corruption, especially if you pull out the drive too soon (even doing this once at the wrong moment can screw things up). Try opening a command prompt and run chkdsk Secret /f on the drive (replace Secret with the correct drive letter of course).

My other apps work fine. And

My other apps work fine.

And I run chkdsk on it every like week.

I know I'm not pluggging it out too soon because it gives me the safe to remove alert.

[Edit: And I'm not terminating the application either.]

Closing?

How are you closing it? You're not using one of those dumb eject utilities that kills (aka crashes) the app are you?

Programming

Unfortunately, I'm still trying to learn how to do basic programming, so I don't know how to fix that. The corruption in the profile, I mean.

Mozilla bug #464486

Probably due to this bug:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=464486

Should be fixed in FF3.0.11.
