all those 15 applications below are outdated as of today not including betas and release candidates....
what's up with that? did the crew here retire or gone kookoo after trying to keep up with all the new versions!
Task Coach
Eraser
InfraRecorder
PeaZip
GnuCash
DVDStyler
OpenOffice.org
FileZilla
Miranda IM
WinSCP
Cornice
Frets on Fire
PokerTH
Stellarium
Virtual Magnifying Glass
It's not easy keeping up with all these. As always, It'll Be Done When It's Done!
But too busy wasting programming time by typing the same polite message to morons who can't read and are too impatient to wait.
Good one.
No, it's not
If someone needs to make a rude response, they should let someone's do it.

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?
Does Virtual Magnifying Glass needs updates? And Frets on Fire? Basing on that, KeepPass should be included, because here the listed version is 1 & the last released is 2. Maybe there is a good reason the only re-release is for updating the installer. In KeepPass case, the new version needs .NET. I don't know other people, but the newest version of FoF won't run in my XP SP2.
yes, it needs update, here is a list of added features copied from the creator website since last release for Virtual Mangifying Glass
http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=897506
* Improved mouse wheel handling
* Much improved Mac OS X support
* New translations: Russian, Polish, Japanese
* Improved existing translations
* Improved dynamic mode plugin
* New plugin: videocard_checker, checks if the video card supports the dynamic mode
* Many fixes for the Linux Gtk2 version
* Added cursor position to graphical tools
* The Windows configuration file is no longer in the application directory, but rather in the local configurations path of the user. Allows execution of the software without write access to the application directory.
In the update, they broke the ability to portablize it. I already reported it to the author.

John Haller and each and every person who assist in this effort do a wonderful job. Personally, I am grateful for the results of their work.
Maybe VITO_1978 should volunteer to assist in the efforts to develop and test these applications. I am sure John could use another hand.
In addition to keeping up with version releases of the portable APPS, there are efforts going on for:
a) Improvements to the Menu Platform
b) Vista impacts
c) Windows 7 impacts
May hat is off to John!
Just my not so humble opinions.
Bob
If I am being called a "moron" by this idiot Steve Gutry for pointing out that ~20% of the portable apps are out of date, then why should I volunteer? besides, It is not like my life is on hold till those apps are updated. I am not impatient. I am just pointing out POLITELY that many apps are outdated. I did not say "what the hell is wrong with you idiots, why can't you update the apps right now, i need them updated asap..." so chill out, I am not starting an argument.
The reason there was a couple week delay on the apps was that the new Format and Installer were being completed first (which also includes fixes for Windows 7 compatibility of both the launchers and installers). These were both due out 2 weeks ago but an illness in the family was taking my time.
The new Installer and Format were posted today:
https://portableapps.com/news/2009-05-16_-_portableapps.com_installer_0....
so you'll start seeing app updates tomorrow.

Thank you John. Steve Gutry, you might want to learn few things from John. I asked a question, and he answered my question. He did not go in circles and call me a "moron"
Firstly, I'm very grateful for everyone's efforts, because I know this isn't a full time job.
I think it would be good to update the Apps according to how popular they are (like OpenOffice.org), then by the significance of the update (new features, bug fixes), then by importance of the app (whether or not there are other apps with similar functionality)
(If there are enough suitable developers, obviously...)
