How to install Flash-9 in Firefox-2 of Win98 ?

Hi,

I need to run portable Firefox-2 in Win98, how can I install Flash-9 in the Firefox-2 ?

(Win98 can't use current Flash-10)
(The method suggest in https://portableapps.com/support/firefox_portable#plugins just install the "current" version Flash)

Basically

Basically you need to put these 2 files:

NPSWF32.dll
and
flashplayer.xpt

in one of these 2 locations:
...\FirefoxPortable\Data\Plugins
or
...\FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox\plugins

the question is, do you have access to flash 9 ?

The only legit link I have access to is:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp9_...

Which is a HUGE download, 63MB according to my notes Sad

indicates it is now at 166MB Shock
That is because I believe it contains ALL versions of 9 that have been made.

You should be able to find an older copy somewhere else, but I don't know where.

Things have got to get better, they can't get worse, or can they?

"Latest" FLash player 9 (should be 9.0.159.0) can also find at
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406791.html (The "Netscape" is for Firefox, Safari, Opera, Mozilla, Netscape, AOL)
or
http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ (choose Win98)

But I meet another bigger problem...

After install the "install_flash_player_9.exe" (same as "flashplayer9r159_win.exe" in the "166MB zip"), it will install some files in
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Macromed\Flash\

I can copy NPSWF32.dll & flashplayer.xpt from there.

If I run Original Firefox 2.0.0.16 or 2.0.0.20 with this install, Firefox will crash. Need uninstall the Flash9 to make Firefox return to normal.

I also try Flash 9.0.151.0 (in the "166MB zip"), but Firefox crash too...

The IE version Flash 9 work well in same PC/Win98.

Any idea how to solve the problem ?
