Changing FFP cache location

Is there a way to tell FFP to use computer's default Temp folder for caching instead of Profile/Cache directory? When I use the browser from my flash drive, multiple writes to it are not very healthy for the flash memory and also considerably slower.
For example, Opera saves those files to C:/Documents and Settings/"user account"/Local Settings/Temp and later deletes them all when closed. Thanks.

Disabled / Privacy

It's disabled for that very reason. If you enable it, it'll slow it down. Storing it on the local hard drive is a big privacy issue and won't normally speed up browsing in most instances. Firefox uses memory for its cache and uses a lot of it. The disk cache is only accessed if a given thing isn't in memory cache anymore. This really only speed up browsing between sessions most of the time, and since your cache would be eliminated between sessions in the portable version, it's not super-useful.

It may speed up an instance where you visit a site and then visit it again a few hours later after visiting other sites in between if you keep the browser open the whole time, but most people use portable software in a much more transitory way.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

You're right. I'm using

You're right. I'm using portable FF on my home computer and also on pen drive. From now on I'll simply disable the caching on my flash drive but keep it enabled on my computer's HD. Thank you.
