Profile Manager for FFP

Hi. I've read through several posts about FFP and other portable apps like Thunderbird and is it correct that there is no Profile Manager for FFP?

I'm trying to set up 2 different profiles on my thumb drive for me and my son. I've tried to run FirefoxPortable.exe -ProfileManager through the command line and it doesn't work. I read a thread that if you use the -ProfileManager command line with FirefoxPortable.exe that it passes that command line to the Firefox.exe application in the App\Firefox\ folder, but that's not true, because it didn't work.

The only way I was able to get the profile manager to run, is to type "\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox\firefox.exe -ProfileManager" from the Run feature in my start menu, but the only thing is that if I create a shortcut on my desktop or where ever, there's no way I can copy that shortcut onto my Portable Apps Menu with the command line in there.

Can anyone help?? Simply put, I would like the Profile Manager window to pop up when I click on the icon in my Portable apps menu, is it possible?

Nope

Nope, they took it out. It is not possible to use the profile manager in Portable Firefox. Your only recourse is to install Firefox twice. Just run the installer again, and put a letter (e.g. your son's first initial) before the "FirefoxPortable". At least that's how I have it at home. My Firefox is out of the NFirefoxPortable directory, and my wife's is out of the JFirefoxPortable directory.

I think the reason is because you can only have one profile in your data folder for compliance with the PortableApps.com platform.

That confuses me, however, because I suggested they remove the broken error reporting tool, and the response is that per their agreement with Mozilla, they cannot alter Firefox. How, then, I wonder, are they allowed to remove the profile manager? There is no problem having 2 profiles in one data directory. When we go on vacation, I copy the profile directories from my home Firefox and my wife's Firefox to my flash drive, and rename the profiles to profile_NATE and profile_JEN. When she wants to use hers, I rename profile to profile_WORK and rename hers to profile. I also have a 0KB file in each one with the profile name after an underscore (_) so I can tell which is which if I get mixed up.
