Hi.
I have been using Toucan for a long time. I recently updated it with the 2.1.0 version, and my backup scripts just get stucked (at the DOS command prompt) right in:
Welcome to the Toucan command line system. 10:26:01 Starting Creating file list, this may take some time.
I have to mention that the same scripts were working as intended with the previous version.
Does anyone know if the syntax of the scripts has to be updated?
(The help provided with the application doesn't mention anything about that)
Regards
syntax is fine, this is a bug, I shall get it fixed in the next pre-release, thanks for the info
I'm seeing this as well when running from a command prompt. Although it does create my backup, but then the window just sits there with the message "Creating file list, this may take some time." I was testing it and ended up terminating it manually. Should I switch to a different version of the program from 2.1.0?
Thanks.
could switch to another version, I hope to have a pre-release of the next version up in the next week or so however if you would prefer to wait.
I've upgraded to 2.1.1 but seem to be having the same issue. For what it's worth I'm using windows XP SP3. I'm using the syntax: toucan foobar
Foobar is obviously the jobname. Running the Job via the GUI seems to work fine though.
will look at this again, sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks Steve, I've upgraded to the 2.1.2 Pre-Release 1 version and the command line works again. I really appreciate the quick response and hard work you've put into this app.
Where can I get this pre-release?
I need to get the command line working.
can get it here.
I've had this happen to me with a password containing spaces. Quoting the password allowed it to work. Perhaps the same might happen with folders containing spaces.
problem in this case was rather more convoluted, but basically (if I remember correctly) when the GUI wasn't shown Toucan wasn't waiting for the output from 7-Zip, but the command line display hung as no output was ever shown.
