Care to elaborate? - We're not sure what you're talking about. What does MS Project refer to?
I presume he means something GanttProject or OpenProject. Both are supposed to be open source but each may prove a problem here as they are written in Java. More information can be had at their home pages, viz http://www.ganttproject.biz/ and http://openproject.org respectively.

where is the link for download MSP Portable?? I need it...
no illegal s/w here
in addition to that MS Project isn't that good (some people at work use it)
compared to Excel for ss or Word for wp it is crap
if you need to read or write the files then ask about alternatives after doing a bit of searching
