give/sell branded usb key

hello,
i have been asked by my chief in my departement (university) to create a sponsored pendrive with portable apps. the usb key will be branded with the university logo and given for free during meetings etc. maybe in future they could be sold in the university shop. He also asked to personalize the logo (icons), homepage of firefox etc with university logo etc...
Can i do this with portable apps suite? it look like gpl allow it, but i didnt understand what to do with portable apps logo: i will for sure give credits to portable apps, but can i change logos, icons and so on?
i read the post
https://portableapps.com/node/16775
about Branding of Portable apps media. I'm still not sure if i can do what described above.
sorry for my english,
thank you in advance

Laura

I seem to remember reading

I seem to remember reading another topic along these lines, and I will do my best to repeat what I remember... but don't hold me to it, because I can't find that post right now to double check. I believe that right now, if you want to redistribute PortableApps PREINSTALLED on to the flash drive, you cannot modify it. That means no rebranding. This means you run the official installer and don't touch anything. Well, I believe you have to go through and be sure that the Data folder of each app is empty, deleting anything that is in it if it isn't. And you are not allowed to use the INI, that is for the end-user only. I *believe* that even the Mozilla apps can be redistributed this way. I seem to recall John saying he was working on different levels of "partnership" where for free you can do what I described above and redistribute, then for a fee you will "upgrade" your partnership, which will mean you can rebrand the menu and maybe do some other things (don't remember what though...) and redistribute that way. Just to be clear, that last part is still IN THE WORKS, as far as I know. I don't think you can rebrand a preinstalled PAM and redistribute it.

Quamquam omniam nescio, nec nihil scio.
