update, are about:config settings preserved?

When installing a new portable version over an existing one, are the about:config settings preserved?

What about the move from 3.0 to 3.5 once they are in the same folder?

But as 3.5 is beta don't try it yet.

easy update from RCR2 to RC3

easy update from RCR2 to RC3 with about:config changes intact, thanks.
