Hey, for some reason the open office download doesnt work for me. it just stops downloading half way and then when i run it, it says there is some error. also i tried downloading the suite and it also does the same thing where it stops half way and i cant run the program. has any body else experienced this? Thanks in advance for any help.

The problem is at your end. This may be due to an anti- product, or more likely it's just because it's a big file, and your connection can't cope very well.
Also, "Request Apps" is the wrong forum completely. Try "OpenOffice.org Support".

Since he is having the same problem with the suite, not sure which version but it seems the larger one, OpenOffice.org Support really would not be of much help.

Sorry you are having a problem, Sometimes downloads get corrupted and need to be tried again, especially with larger apps, could you try it again on another computer or using a different mirror.
What version of the suite were you trying to download, try the "platform only" and see if that works, do you have a modem or dsl, etc ?

I have actually downloaded just the platform only and am running it fine and smoothly. i really like it especially after my u3 got corrupted and i can no longer use that flash drive
, for the openOffice app i downloaded 3.1 which is the same one included with the platform suite which is why i tried to download the suite. And just to make sure that it wasnt just that the download got corrupted i tried to download both openOffice and the suite like 2 or 3 more times and each time came out with the same result. i dont believe that it has anything to do with my connection because i have downloaded larger items recently and they worked just fine. thanks for your support.

Strange, the only thing I can recommend is trying it from another computer or another mirror. Sometimes these things are just a "hickup" with larger downloads from a particular site at particular times and not others. If you can try that let us know how it turns out, if it is still a problem further investigation will be needed.

Hey Tim, i tried again today to download both the suite and OpenOffice and came out with the same results as before where it downloads half way and then it says there is some kind of error when trying to run the program. Also i went to another website and downloaded the portable openoffice which was also around 80MB and the download completed just fine and i was able to run the program, but for some reason i cant download it from this website.

Do you know what mirror site you were linked to for the actual download, Sorceforge uses mirrors which can change per download ?

The download was only 8 MB
This one Did work for me:

The file was the expected 87 MB and the check sum/MD5 matched.
Try that link and see if it works for you.
