I'm very new to Toucan, but when I try to encrypt a file (open toucan, go to the secure tab, add a file, check encrypt and click OK) I always get an error message: "failed to encrypt ...name of the file..."
The file is not changed at all by toucan.
The file is available for me to read/modify/save if I open it with notepad for example.
No other program is using the file when toucan tries to access it.
I'm on WinXP SP2 (user with admin rights).
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.

it doesn't sound like you are doing anything wrong to me. I am not sure why this would be, is there anything unusual about the file?
I cant think of anything unusual about the file.
I tried for instance with a text file I created, typing some rubbish with notepad and then saving/closing the file. First with the file on a document folder on the USB key itself, then on the windows the desktop.
Is there any logfile / debug mode option to shed some light?
have added some more debug info to the next pre-release version of Toucan, I will try and get it uploaded in the next day or so.
later than expected, as usual, I have uploaded a 2.1.3 Pre-Pre-Release here. It should print an error code next to any errors.
