(MD5: 03a9d025ae25af884222ce1c525661d8)
This PAF is based off of Travis Carrico's original work on the 1.5_Development_Test_1 release. I am new to PAF and am learning the procedures, protocols, and so on. Please be aware this is my first attempt in maintaining/releasing a PAF package.
It is recommended you do a clean install if you have an older release until we determine what files/directories should be preserved
Languages supported from the K-Meleon official locales package:
- English - tested
- French - tested
- German - tested
- Polish - should be available but I could not test as I do not have this codepage installed on my test systems
- Russian - should be available but I could not test as I do not have this codepage installed on my test systems
- Spanish - tested

I will try, Thanks
The same problem that the K-Meleon Portable 1.5.0 Dev Test 1, I open several Tabs 9 or 11 (empty or filled)it hangs or it closes whenever; in Windows xp and vista.
Thanks
Sorry for my English
I've extensively used Travis' 1.5 dev release and my 1.5.3 dev on multiple XP SP3 and W2K3 SP2 systems with no issues that you report. I have not tried it on Vista so I cannot comment on that.
Are you using addons/plugins besides the Adblock one?
No, I do not use Adblock; but i use NPSWF32.dll (Flash player) in USB:\K-MeleonPortable\App\K-Meleon\plugins\ , and without (NPSWF32.dll) It is the same thing.
I've just tried this now and it doesn't launch. I get a Windows dialog box saying "K-meleon Web Browser has stopped working"
happens both with and without adblock installed
a local install works without problems
The specs for my pc are:
Windows Vista Ultimate SP2
AMD Phenom 9750 Quad Core (running at 2.40ghz)
8GB Ram
ATI Raedon HD 4650 (1gb video memory)
Search of K-Meleon's forums shows that the issues above are probably with K-Meleon itself and likely not with how I am packaging for PAF.
Possible tabbing concerns:

Possible Vista concerns:

(though to be honest I have no way to see what extra items may have to be done to get it to work with Vista - if any - specifically since I do not run Vista).
I'll assume the users above have run K-Meleon through the standalone installer and had no issues with a native install?
You are correct in your assumption, at least with the vista issue I reported. I did try the native install of K-Meleon using the standalone installer and that did work for me
Works just fine. Any chance for the "official" release?
Hello Dagenham. Great to hear you are able to use it. Just curious as to what Operating System you are using this on (XP, Vista, Win7, etc)?
Apparently a few users running this on Vista are having issues so I doubt this will become an official release unless I get around to rebuilding a Vista test system to try it on. I wiped out my only Vista SP2 dev laptop because it was just too painful to use and ended up installing XP. I am still using my PAF release on dozens of WinXP SP3 and W2K3 SP2 systems with no issues as of this post. I will be testing it out on Win7 in the next few weeks. If that works fine I will likely bypass supporting Vista altogether.
Windows XP, SP2. I've never used Vista and I never will :).
Win7 64 bit here - installed it, but it would not launch...
Thanks for the heads up on Win7-64bit. When I get around to building a Win7 VM, I'll try to debug it and see what the problem might be.
Current testing status for Windows 7 with this PAF:
1. Windows 7 Professional 32 bit version (freshly installed in a VMWare container): I have installed this with the adblock plugin enabled. It runs with no problems even with 20+ tabs opened. There is some odd initial tab toolbar behavior I'll have to check out though.
2. I will be installing Win7Prof 64 bit version in the next few days/weeks to try that out.
K-Meleon forums seem to indicate no serious issues running in Win7. So if there are any problems it will be in the PAF launcher that I will have to correct.
Is there any support for the K-Meleon extensions (http://kmext.sourceforge.net/)?
I downloaded the ext manager and will try it out in the next few weeks to see what would be involved with including it as an installer option. I use KM mainly for basic web dev testing so I have not needed heavy plugin/extension support like I do when I use FF.
I am using the "1.5.3 Development Test 1"
since it came out
it works without problems and is still quick when it happens to use an older computer (cannot say the same thing of Firefox)
[by the way, this is the only limit of P.A., you cannot pretend to find always a good machine]
Will we get an official release?
Likely no official release until I can correct the Vista/Win7 64bit problems. I think I've narrowed that down to having to include a few specific msvc DLLs in the PA installer.
Good to hear you are using it with no problems. Can I ask what OS you are using it under?
New version of K-Meleon 1.5.4 (2010-03-05) http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/download.php
I am in the process of creating an updated PAF for 1.5.4. Looks like this newer K-Meleon version works under Win7 and Win2008 (based on my prelim testing) without me having to package specific MSVC DLLs like I was going to do for the older 1.5.3 release. I have no clue if it will work under Vista as I refuse to use it.
I will be creating a new forum post with this new version shortly.
