First of all I'm looking to buy a USB Thumb Drive to use at work.
I work at a gas station, and when it's slow I'm terribly bored.
There's a computer with a LAN connection.
A couple of my co-workers have said you can get in trouble if it's used for my person use.
Would using a jump drive with apps on it, allow me to surf the net without being detected? I'm sure somewhere they would detect the bandwidth usage... anyway around that?
Thoughts?
If your internet usage is being monitored by another computer on the network, then there's nothing you can do about it. I wish people would stop asking that question. It's like asking how you can fart without being detected--even if you manage to stifle the sound, somebody's still going to smell it.
And by the way, likely if the connection is monitored, they're going to detect a lot more than just your bandwidth usage. Nobody just looks at bandwidth use, because it's impossible to figure out what's going on just by looking at that. Nope, all the sites you go to would be logged, like a remote history that doesn't expire.
