Wallpaper swapper and Dual Monitors

Hey all. As it stands, portableapps loads and unloads my wallpaper when I insert and remove my USB. Problem is it doesn't work correctly with dual monitors. As it is set now, it takes your image and tries to duplicate it across both montitors - never quite looking right. I created a 'double' side .bmp and placed it, but it just scrunched that to one monitor and duplicated it on both screens.

Is the (increasinly standard) use of dual monitors going to be addressed in a future release? That would be great because it has enormous potential.

(or, is there a PA setting somewhere I can hack?)

Non-standard

From a technical point of view, Windows views these as non-standard as I haven't seen an easy way to swap back and forth an image (or set of images) that would work properly with dual monitors.

Dual monitors is definitely non-standard (and probably will remain that way just for sheer economic and functionality reasons... since 99%+ people don't need them), though the small percentage of people (typically designers / developers) who use them really enjoy them, including several of my colleagues. The good thing is, the only time you'll really encounter dual monitors is on your own system at work or home, in which case you can set your own wallpaper anyway.

If you do find a technical way to do it properly, I'd be happy to implement it, though.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

John, thanks for the quick

John, thanks for the quick response. Though my company has over 300 employees, all with dual monitors, it's not an environment where many also use PortableApps, so I see your points.

I'm a beta tester for a very good program called DisplayFusion and at it's core, it's a dual monitor wallpaper swap program. (It also has the best multi-monitor taskbars there is) Should you be interested in looking further into the wallpaper placing, Jon (the developer) might have some insight.

Thanks for a great program. I'm really liking v2 beta 3. Smile
