Bookmarks.html isn't used anymore as of Firefox 3.0. Everything is in places.sqlite. You can still export to or import from bookmarks.html. And there is an advanced setting in about:config that will set Firefox to auto-export to bookmarks.html on exit, I think.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

There are also bookmark backups stored in the "bookmarkbackups" folder in .json files. Firefox can also import these in the bookmark manager.
Thank you both for the help. After receiving this information, I figured out that the actual bookmark file is: places.sqlite.
Thanks again.
