Celestia 1.6.0 update wipes all additonal added data, like models, textures etc.

Hi,

Anybody experiencing this?

I had an older version of Celestia installed, with a ton of extra models, textures etc.
When I updated to the latest version 1.6.0, all my additional stuff was removed from the folders. So I ended up with a clean, basic Celesta install.

This might be a small bug in the update routine.

This is just going to be a problem with it not preserving the right things, or not putting everything in Data that it should. Or possibly you should have put it somewhere in Data and rather put it in App\Celestia.

To save time, could you please tell us where you had put the files?

(Disclaimer: I'm not the Celestia Portable developer, and I haven't looked closely at what it does.)

Hi Chris, I finally had the

Hi Chris,

I finally had the time to sit down and figure out what the issue was. Apparently, the add-ons were in the wrong place. Although they were in the Data folder, the folder hierarchy in the new version is slightly different somehow.

I always kept strictly to the install notes, but it's slightly different now so it seems.

I will set it up again, it's not a ton of work but it caught me by surpise, as some new features that work differently now Wink

cheers and sorry for the noise,

rob

Needs fixing

If layout has changed a bit, then the update process should be fixed so that if the addons are compatible, it moves them to where they need to be. We can do that, but obviously this was missed in that release. It'd help in fixing if you could tell me where they were and now are. I think that it merits a revision.
