Well, I was modifying John's windows 7 theme and I noticed some bugs with the menu... during my theming fail...
Well, the problem was the menu icons being a corrupt png. As a result, the menu got buggy, and a lot more problems happened, so much I couldn't do anything with it.
First... the personal picture disappeared, along with the menu icons, and the app list icons.
Then I noticed at the bottom, it say PortableApps (W:) instead of Brandon (B:), and all the app names turned into weird ones like lblappbutton1, lblappbutton2, and so on. Also, if you go to Options --> Themes, the top of the list says Red instead of PortableApps.com Default theme.
So what I'm saying is that the whole menu shouldn't be failing just because of 1 currupt png.
Here's a picture.
Here's one without that options menu in the way...
This will probably just be the way it is. There's no really easy way to ensure that it loads properly. The chances of doing a corrupt PNG are pretty low (how did you even manage it).
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
