I think Slax(http://slax.linux-live.org/) is a good choice.

you could just copy all the

you could just copy all the Slax content from the CD to your USB drive, then boot the cd and type in 'slax nocd' at the boot section

I know it's not portable. Actually it's already portable Smile I heard someone talking about portable (live) linux releases so i posted my opinion.
