Warning about Notepad++ 5.5: On my system it first refused to acknowledge the hex editor, then proceeded to delete another plugin repeatedly. I went back to an earlier version of this program and will not trust any further updates.

When that happens, it means the plugin is incompatible with the current version of Notepad++ and cannot be loaded. This will happen. You can either remain with the older version of Notepad++ or wait for the plugin to be updated. There is no warning or announcement from the Notepad++ author when this occurs.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
