Exiting FileZillaPortable

When exitting FileZillaPortable 3.2.8.1 (and older versions) it does not shut down properly (keeps running as it can be seen in the Task Manager), which prevents the user from "securely removing the device", unless the process is manually terminated via the Task Manager or similar programs.

Never had that problem

Never had that problem myself.

Too many lonely hearts in the real world
Too many bridges you can burn
Too many tables you can't turn
Don't wanna live my life in the real world

What computer are you using it on? Does it have any restrictions? The restrictions might be preventing it from exiting.

I am using it on my personal PC (Windows) at home. There are no restrictions I have manually set, so I guess there should be none.

Have you tried reinstalling it? And if that doesn't work try a fresh install.

I have tried to re-"install" it several times, with several different versions of FileZilla Portable, but nothing worked so far. I always have to kill it via the TaskManager.

Delete First

Delete the directory before reinstalling. If you have saved settings, just delete FileZilla\App before reinstalling to ensure nothing is left behind.

If it happens again, install Unlocker and see what is locking the process open.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Delete first

I have now tried to delete the whole application and reinstall it, however this also did not help me. Today I do not have any time anymore to try installing Unlocker, but I will write again as soon as I tried it.

By the way thanks to everybody who replied already...
