SudoCue please

First, thank you all for all your work. I'm enheartened that there are still folks like y'all in the world. I have been a user of your apps since nearly the beginning! I have carefully searched the forums for the suggested app.

Suggested App: SudoCue

What it does: This is a web application to create/solve/help with SUDOKU games.

Justification: IMHO this is the best sudoku program. My wife and I have tried many. The old implementation of sudoku as a portableapp was/is flawed and not nearly as helpful at the suggested one. SudoCue is a classic implementation. The development guy is as heard working as y'all are.

The copyright page is at URL: http://www.sudocue.net/copyright.php

It appears to me that it is "freeware for personal use", but one must ask permission.

Ease of Implementation: I suspect that emcapulation as a Protableapp would be easy. A google search of the web gives other site that claim to have a portable SudoCue, althought it.

The Home page is: http://www.sudocue.net/

The Contact page is: http://www.sudocue.net/contact.php

I am launching this request since the policy concerning freeware has changed.

Thanks

Solver, game, or both?

Is it a solver, is it a game, or is it both?

I personally hate solvers. If a Sudoku can't be solved with logic, and you have to use a solver, it's as bad as if you have to guess. If it's a fault with the Sudoku, it's a badly written one and is not worth doing. If it's your logic that's flawed, and the Sudoku is good, the solver won't help. There's no real point to doing them in a hurry, and the solvers don't help you learn from your mistakes. I'd rather just get a book on Sudoku, one that's also a puzzle book, so you're learning as you're solving them.

Look up "Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection"; there's a Sudoku program there called Solo. It's portable on its own, it's just a single .exe if I remember right. Looks like Sudoku Portable, but it's got a lot more options.

+1 for your request if it's a good program -- I can't pull the site up at work -- but in the meantime, that Solo's a good alternative.

If its portable, use Firefox

If its portable, use Firefox Portable OR Chrome Portable

Nathan, I agree with you

Nathan,
I agree with you completey. It is both. And the site is simply wonderful. Check it out.

OliverK,
Thanks for the idea. I was hoping for a portable app, though. And thanks for the welcome. Actually, I've been here since nearly the beginning--just silent. Smile
