Update XML File Malformed 200

The latest install of firefox seems to install ok, and in ABOUT it even says "3.5.4" but when I checked Help/Check for updates, it says:

There were problems checking for updates, firefox could not be updated".

Any ideas what happened?

you shouldn't be using the

you shouldn't be using the built in updater anyway. So I fail to see a problem. If it bothers you, though, I would start with reinstalling firefox to make sure nothing got mixed up.

Corruption

This is usually due to corruption on the drive. Check it for errors, then go to the FirefoxPortable\App\Firefox directory and delete the update or updates directory in there (with Firefox closed, of course).

I didn't use the update

I didn't use the update feature to update. I was just checking out of curiosity.

Suffice to say, the error message went away. All I did was close firefox and started it again, and this time the "Check for Updates" says, there are no updates available.

So all it took was a restart of portablefirefox Smile
