convert normal apps into portable apps

Lately I found out something good!

If you have a really good program and you cant find its portable version, this is for you!

Install winrar, go to the programs installed directory and click create archive.

create it as SFX.

Not really.

This just compresses the standard program. It will still write to the registry and the computer.

One other thing about SFX

One other thing about SFX archives:

Click on Advanced tab and click SFX options.

In the create in box type %ramdrv%PROGRAM

Your program will still change settings and/or leave data on a host PC, unless modified not to. Pretty annoying for settings, and a security risk for data. The SFX option is for when say, you want to send someone a file, but the can't install WinRAR on their computer for various reasons.
