didn't tested, but is it possible to set an dynamic backup folder for downloaded ftp files (this is nice to combine ftp backup and search them locally)?
so if its supported why isn't it on portable apps? This is a great tool that i've been looking for and every program i've come across falls short in one way or another and this meets all my requirements and more. More people need to know about this!
Ahh thank you! Its taken a lot of application testing before i came across this gem. Just a few notes:
Its convenient when the install path points to the same path as where the portable EXE is stored. I've seen it done in other portable app installers/extractors.
Should change the name of the default folder name when you run the English dictionary EXE. I accidentally overwrote my PSPad portable folder since I wasn't paying attention and didn't notice the dictionary folder name was the same. You can make it something like PSPadEngDictPortable or PSPadEngDictPort just as long as it different.
I saw on PSPad's website they have a .zip version. Is that the portable version as then you can just use that. I also noticed a portable option when I installed the full installer version. Just thought i'd note it.
The installer isn't connecting for me either. The file it's trying to download is available so I'm not sure what's going on. Perhaps a user agent block on the server? Is that possible?
In the meantime, download the 4.5.6 (2427) "Zip archive" from here, unzip & rename pspad456en to PSPad & place in PSPadPortable\App so your path to the EXE is PSPadPortable\App\PSPad\PSPad.exe.
It could be useragent, but I'm glad to see it wasn't.
I dropped Jan a note to ask for his permission to do a full bundle of PSPad for official release. That way we can include additional languages as options or make better add-on packages as well. As prapper's already done all the heavy lifting and this has had some good testing, we should be good to go live with this soon after getting permission.

this works fine now. I simply copied my er illegal versions app files into the PA.com launcher no probs. My only gripe is having to sort out damn file associations again, grr... Is there any news on the menu supporting file associations yet? That's all i need now.

The code to handle them is complete, we just need to finish the GUI in a way that makes sense. Expect at least a beta with it working this month(ish). A platform release will happen this week with updates on the schedule so everyone is on the same page.

After this happened I decided to switch to using the app on its own without launcher. I've since updated to the latest beta and still have noticed the word wrap keeps resetting so its probably the app having a bug.
EDIT: I don't know why it happened, all I can say is that it was fine one minute then next startup settings were gone.

Your online installer do not works because says 'File not found'; maybe version 4.5.7 has been removed from download.
So I have:
1. extracted Your installer (with PeaExtractor) and inserted all content in a folder .\PSPadPortable
2. downloaded from site http://PSPad.com/en/download.php last portable version 'pspad502en.zip' and extracted all content in .\PSPadPortable\App\PSPad\
Now it works.

Hi,
didn't tested, but is it possible to set an dynamic backup folder for downloaded ftp files (this is nice to combine ftp backup and search them locally)?
regards,
Marc
Just set it in "Settings/Program Settings.../Backup" and it'll follow when the drive letter changes.
There's a couple of things need fixing in this one so I'll update it soon.

The PSPad isn't open source. A lot of time working with him, I developed some plugins for it and translated into Portuguese.
I already have an application developed for it a long time.
It works with mingw, java, c++ and others. Everything is working.
But I can not put here for this reason:
- The PSPad is not open souce and thus does not follow the rules of PortableApps.

We permit freeware and have for quite some time now.

Great Job! keep up the great work
I don't understand what you mean.
Are you talking about reinstalling PSPad Portable? It will, but only if you've installed to the default path.
It's a plugin so if you install it to a different folder it won't be installed. I think I'm missing something here.
Yes, this is what PSPad Portable downloads on install.
No way! This will allow me to finally rid myself of [illegal suite]! Thanks again prapper
EDIT: Hmmm... installer not connecting, probably my crap internet connection been having problems for a while. Does this normally install ok?

Nice trademark!
I hope that month(ish) isn't like the new monthly release schedule! Sorry, couldn't resist that
Seriously though thanks, I look forward to the next release...

Not sure how or why but my settings have been lost and the app has reset to its defaults. I know I didn't have a file or folder open like with MuLab.

Yes, that is a bit strange but I'll need some more info.
