Pop-up blocker?

I hate asking at forum's that i'm not a long-time member, and it seems like i've already done it too much here. I'm just hoping you guys can help.

Basically there's a small story here. My sister's boss is having computer problems, some sort of adware problem(i won't know exactly what i'm dealing with until I get there) but i was sort of drafted against my will into taking a bit of a look at it. (to earn her some good points with her new boss)

there's a small problem though. The computer is suposed to have a bad popup issue. hopefully booting up in safemode will disable them but just in case i was wondering if there was a portable popup blocker?

Or failing that if you guys know of a way to disable popups long enough for scanners to be installed?

Sorry for causing any hassle. I'm kinda displeased about this myself.

Well

FF and PFF auto block popups.
I also use Adblock, so if they do come up, they are stuffed.
But, what you want I think is a Portable Adware/Spyware remover. Search for CCleaner or Spybot Search and Destroy.

So

So also you have my previous trouble with popup and adaware, I solve it with bluefrog (extensions for firefox) and physhguard (search on yahoo); plus on the mozilla site there is some beta version of some new stuff regarding that matter.
Good luck
