Hi, sorry if this belongs in the off-topic, but I figured I'd put it here in case theres a portable app for the software.
I love the program Fireworks (made by Adobe) but, it's not portable, and I also love open source.
what I'd like to know is if there is a program similar to it, for those who don't know, Fireworks is like a cross between Photoshop and MS Paint, not too much, not too little, which is the best thing about it, I'm no photo guy, I'm more of the make your own motivational poster, make a Kirby GIF (which I used in conjunction to make a kirby loading icon ^.^ ) kinda guy. I do some web design, which is what I used it with first, now I figure I'll use it for making sprites for a video game (which I will make with C++, hopefully having the chance to do it portably)
Now, Inkscape, is just lacking, and GUI=confusing
GIMP is too much photoshop for me
So does anyone know any good freeware or open source image programs, or rather "Vector drawing" programs.
Thanks in advanced!
Inkscape is not too confusing or lacking... I just used Inkscape to design the new theme for WaterSums - what you see there comes straight out of my Inkscape design.
What is it that you don't like about Inkscape or think that it lacks?

I actually don't remember now, perhaps the only thing I'm missing is the special select tool (which is in GIMP) so umm, yeah...sorry, well I still always like to know all the options, so thanks to the other poster for the online editors too. Perhaps it was what I was working on at the time that was the problem, so huh... thanks I guess >.>;;
edit: It's mostly just its lack of a selection tool (not special, just in general) for bitmaps

Most of the intermediate image editors that I know of are online. Here's a
couplefew to get you started:http://www.pixlr.com/

Else, the GIMP's docs make it really easy... after you check out a book or two :P.
