Whenever I try to change my signature and hit Save, it errors out and tells me "the email address is already registered". wtf?

You have 2 accounts with the same email address, which isn't allowed by Drupal and should have errored when you signed up for the 2nd or changed the 2nd to match the first. Change one and it'll work.
