Hello,

It would be nice if Nikon's Capture NX2 would be a portable app.

Difficult (if not illegal)

Nikon Capture NX2 would be difficult to make portable. A better choice is Raw Therapee http://www.rawtherapee.com/?mitem=2, a free offering that is already portable http://www.rawtherapee.com/?mitem=4&faqid=14, just not in portable apps format.
Since freeware is now supported at PortableApps.com, I suggest that this be seriously looked at.

Also, there is a plugin for Gimp called UFRaw which would be nice.

I have been using both UFRaw and Raw Therapee from USB devices for some time and have been very happy with both.
