Like Mac's,when you plug a usb, an usb icon will show in the desktop. Is it possible to do the same in Windows?

there is an icon when you connect your stick. It also is the one you can disconnect it with, so no need to have it on desktop as well.
Yes, it's in the system tray. In XP, it's a grey block, turned at a diagonal, with a left-pointing green arrow above it. If you're using Windows 7, it's a USB plug with a green circle, with a check box in it.
Left-click it and choose "Safely remove USB mass storage device - Drive(X:)" where X is your flash drive's drive letter, to safely disconnect. If you right-click it, you get some more options.
He's talking about the DESKTOP.
Everybody knows about that usb icon in the system tray.
There's an app in Development called DeskLinkz Portable, take a look at that
And that system tray icon, isn't really all that useful, other than when you want to connect the drive.
No, I haven't seen anything like that for Windows. As suggested above you'll probably have to get some third party software to do it for you. That is one of the features about a Mac that I do like, I must confess.
:/ It's called DeskLinz Portable
Oh and I meant to say "disconnect the drive" in my prior post.
