Where are things saved? [New to portable apps]

Hi, new member and loving being able to take my favorite apps with me on my pen drive.

Just one question with regards browser apps. If I am using my company PC but on my home network does anything get saved to the laptop or does it all get saved on to the pen drive? Sport websites are blocked at work but I can get on to them at home. If I use firefox portable or any other browser, will there be any history of me being on the sport websites left on my laptop?

Cheers

there won't be any private data left at the computer.
Your history get saved on the pen drive and if you want to completely play it safe you could disable history so it won't be saved anyway.

However

However, your company could be monitoring your network access and could have a complete log the sites you visited. You are at work to work. Why take the chance?

edit: I may have misread your question. If you are using a work laptop at home and are worried about stuff being left behind then there should not be a problem.

At work it's not worth the risk. But when I am at home on my broadband I don't see the issue. I just didn't want to leave traces and they think I was on stuff I shouldn't be at work.

Clarifications

There are two kinds of history we're talking about.

First there's your browser history. You can disable that, but it's just on your flash drive, it's not going to be on the computer at all.

Second there's the network access history. This depends on what network you connect to. The computer does not matter. If it's your home network connection, your job can't tell what sites you visit. Simply put they don't and can't monitor your network access. Your ISP can but chances are they don't care. Now if it's your work network, that's different. Most IT departments log network access just for the CYA factor. Different companies have different reasons for filtering certain parts of the Net. It's inadvisable to try to violate these policies, but if you're on your portable Firefox and your network, the fact that they own the laptop is beside the point. Entirely beside the point and not a factor in the equation.
