Can't Access Gmail

I can't get to gmail, when i type in gmail.com all it does is sit there and say loading continually, it never actually makes it to the log in screen. Someone please help, gmail is where i have all my accounts. I can imagine a well known web browser like firefox not working with one of the biggest email carriers.

NoScript?

Hi. If you have the NoScript add-on, please make sure that the domain "google.com" is allowed, or temporarily allowed, so you can log on to your account. The "google-analitycs.com" doesn't have to be allowed (FYI, that is a "webbug", or a "tracker". Gives them commercially valuable information about your use of the websites...).

If NoScript is not the one causing the problem, then maybe a Cookie add-on like CS Lite or something?

And then again, it might have been a problem with their servers...

Hope this helped. Cheers Smile

My posts are old and likely no longer relevant.

I don't have the no script

I don't have the no script add-on. I still cannot access gmail. I have tried clearing cookis and cahce, and have allowed gmail.com on everything in the options, i have done the about:config and changed the "network.http.sendRefererHeader" value to 1. Nothing works! What am i missing?! How come it works for everyone else and not me?!

I would advise you to rename

I would advise you to rename the Data folder in X:/PortableApps/FireFoxPortable/ to something else, like OldData. Running firefox portable should then cause it to create a new, clean profile. After this, try to access gmail again, and see if it works. If it does, we know something is wrong with your profile, else there is a different issue. Please note that you must close firefox portable before doing this, and that doing this will make you lose all your addons/preferences and such (although deleting the newly generated Data folder and renaming the old one back will revert that)

On another note, depending on where you are trying to access gmail from, it might be blocked. For example schools might block some sites, or in extreme cases, only allow some and block all others, which might be causing this issue. Have you tried to acces gmail.com using another browser?

Tried it, didn't work, but

Tried it, didn't work, but this was a new install of firefox anyways so there wasn't much of anything different between the old profile and the new. I have tried from my home and office and in both places i can't loggin on firefox, but i can from IE, which i hate using.

Thats odd... have you tried reinstalling firefox portable? That's about the only idea I have left...

Duplicate threads?

I'm assuming this post is related? Probably better to just have one forum thread for helping out. It seems that the problem is bigger than just gmail.
