I've just installed this product for the first time (v2.6.5 ). Although in Preferences I have "highlight misspelled words" ticked it has no effect. How do I get the spell check to work?

In order for the spell checker to work you need to install the Aspell binaries under its respective folder under PidginPortable.
x:\PortableApps\PidginPortable\App\aspell
To get the binaries you will need to download and install aspell on your PC and then copy the binaries usually found at "C:\Program Files\Aspell" and paste them under the aspell folder [x:\PortableApps\PidginPortable\App\aspell]
