Does Foxit Reader really needs the PortableApps wrapper

How is the status of latest release of Foxit Reader Free?
Does it still need to be made portable in order to cleanly run from USB or CD?
Up to know I simply use a copy of local binary and ini placed on USB.

Registry Entries, Recent Files

Foxit will leave registry keys behind on every PC you run it on. The portable launcher takes care of that. It also updates your most recently opened files list so you can go back and easily reopen a document on your drive even if you move to a new PC and get a different drive letter (which would normally break the recently opened files entries).

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Exact that I can observe on my PC when installing Foxit "portable" just
by copy of local and stationary installation instead of to use
Foxit Portable.
