Sweet Home 3D

Not sure about a compatible sheet for Dia Portable but I recommend you look at Sweet Home 3D. Works great, looks great and is purpose built for what your trying to do Smile

Here's Sweet Home 3d Portable. Please note it requires Java Portable.

Hope it helps Smile

Brilliant!

Can I just toss in my support for SweetHome3D, it's fantastic! AND you don't need a masters degree in AutoCAD to use it like other 3D design programs. It's very simple to use and very friendly even for complete novices. All you really need are room dimensions to guide you with creation. You can work in 2D or 3D simultaneously, and results are instantly displayed as you work. It's easy to add simple furniture, and just an all-around joy to use.

I cannot praise this program enough, it would be a great addition to the PortableApps staples, Java or no Java! (usually I wouldn't consider Java apps portable but that's just my personal preference).

Dia Santa...

Don't misrepresent my post! Wink It was all about SweetHome3D! Blum

Although Dia is brilliant too, but I wouldn't use it to design a house. Smile

(should I be bumping for Dia too?) Blum

Joking 2: The Revenge

It's ok, I was joking too, but I win the competition for best sarcasm in a post 2010. Smile

I don't know

Additional shapes (licensed under the terms of the GPL) are available here, but there isn't a home design floor plan sheet yet. You could create your own one and send it to that page though.
Other sheets could be found using a search engine, but noone can say something about the license or quality of these search results. Blum
Since your question is more a general Dia question (and not a portable issue), you'll get better support if you use the Dia mailing list:

live.gnome.org/Dia/Contact If you want to discuss dia, or problems you have with dia, there is a mailing list available. The mailing list address is: dia-list@gnome.org
The reply-to header is set by the mailing list manager, so responses will be sent to the list, so you will have to be subscribed to get the answers to your questions. You can subscribe by filling out the form at the dia-list pages.
Archives of the mailing list are available at: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/dia-list/

Or connect with Dia on Facebook
