McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.7.0i (updated 25.2.2010) gives this about Notepad++Portable.exe (I changed the name of the executable myself).
NotepadppPortable is a known trojan.
Detected as Generic.dx!nle
This trojan is discovered 14.2.2010.

That's a false positive from McAfee and should be reported. Usually when McAfee gets confused, it throws up a 'generic' trojan error, which means nothing.
In the future, check the file using VirusTotal before jumping to conclusions and you'll see it's just McAfee's engine having the issue at the time.
