I would like to see a portable launcher for Sim City 2000. It is a pain in the ass to install and get working in linux. Also the 1.2 Patch wont install on Vista. A portable Launcher would be greatly appreciated.

Why not just use Lin-City NG?
because LinCity sucks. it doesnt allow for the zoneing aspect that SC2K has and for me it crashes frequently enough to make me say "F*** it"
What about SimCity Urban Renewal Kit with a portable launcher?
I would like to see that too
Is it free?
"It's just an online installer. It's not going to mug you.", JTH
"The shell is the key to unlock Linux's greatest advantages."
not a portable SimCity 2000 recompiled program. no its not free.
That's still a valid question, IMHO, because you'll probably get more interest with a freeware app than a payware one (who wants to pay for an app just so they can portabilize it, especially when the launcher can't become official?)
Just wondering, how popular is SimCity? (I don't have it, I don't play it, so idk)
"The question I would like to know, is the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything. All we know about it is that the Answer is Forty-two, which is a little aggravating."
its because people have more fun poping caps in MMOFPS games like Team Fortris and MMORPG's like Aion and WOW. T___T
I guess i am the odd man out
A quick and easy solution would be to use DosBox Portable or D-Fend Reloaded Portable and install SimCity 2000 dos version there. Portability should be pretty safe then
