Whatever I do, PChatPortable keeps English as it's language.
Choosing the language at the installer screen - for me "Deutsch/German" makes no difference, the application keeps English as it's language.....
Is there a clue ?

Sorry John,
but it does not !
I think we'll need Zach to jump in then as it's supposed to pick up the host PC's language or it's ANSI setting (which are two different things). Is your OS and your system and use locale set to German?

Win XP / SP3 and it is German.
There is no other (OS-)language on my PC.
Thank you !
The system and user locale setup is independent of the OS language. So you could have Windows in German but your system locale set to English, for example. You can check it here:

Regional setting: German (Austria)
Language for non-Unicode programs ("Advanced"): German (Germany)
sorry for my late reply, I'll take a look into the matter, could be the fact that PChat isn't finding the locale folder properly. once I locate the issue I'll do a quick test release, the language testing previously was done based off of an old copy of XChat Portable which PChat is based off of.
Anyways I'm 90% sure of the issue is the location of the locale directory, I'll take a look, patch up the issue and do a test release.

I just tried it and I have the same issue.
Just to let you know.
